Here at CMFCAA we equip and provide families and children any services and support they need in raising a family completely free of charge. We know that loved children will live better and fuller lives and its our passion to help support those families.

In Missouri, nearly 12,000 children are in foster care, each with their own story and dreams. At CMFCAA, we believe that every child deserves the love and support to thrive. Our mission is we are committed to providing essential services and support to the kinship, foster and adoptive children, youth, and families in Central Missouri.

We educate, support, and advocate for foster, kinship and adoptive children, youth and families in central Missouri by offering services and partnering with others to help them become healthy and self-sufficient.

What is CMFCAA?Answer: Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association (CMFCAA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for foster, adoptive, and kinship families in Central Missouri. We provide resources, training, and services to enhance the lives of children and families involved in foster care and adoption.

How can I become a foster parent?
Answer: To begin the foster care process, first, you must take MO-C.A.R.E preservice class, get a home assessment, pass a background check, and take CPR/first aid. We offer all of these trainings free on our website. The licensing process takes several months. If you are hoping to adopt, you go through the same process and take the Spaulding class.

What services does CMFCAA offer?
Answer: CMFCAA offers a wide range of services, including:
• Physical resources like clothes, beds, dressers, and shoes
• Support groups and training for foster and adoptive parents
• Advocacy and legal assistance
• Educational resources and tutoring
• Mental health and wellness programs
• Respite care and emergency support
• Community events and family activities

What is kinship care?
Answer: Kinship care is the raising of children by anyone with a close bond to the child that is not their biological parents. That could be a sibling, an aunt/uncle, or in many cases a grandparent raising a grandchild. Kinship does not just mean family. It can be those with close bonds like godparents, a coach, or a youth pastor who has taken in someone else’s child.
